Summary of Service Terms for ScarfWeb

Applicable to Authorized Users of Genomics Translational Technology Platform (Genomics TTP) and UCL Genomics sites at University College London.

Definitions

The Partner: The Genomics Translational Technology Platform (Genomics TTP) and UCL Genomics sites at University College London.

Authorized Users: Individuals (such as researchers, post-docs, PhD students, PIs, etc.) possessing an email address within a whitelisted domain who have conducted single-cell genomics sequencing through The Partner. Presently approved whitelist domains include: *.ucl.ac.uk

Authorized Upload: The transfer or upload of data carried out by The Partner to Nygen Analytics AB's servers, facilitating data delivery to the Authorized User.

Data Policies

Data Retention and Deletion

Data uploaded on ScarfWeb is valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of upload.

Data Ownership

The end-users retain sole ownership of the uploaded data unless they explicitly choose to share, transfer, or publish their data through the platform.

Data Publication and Licensing

Subject to Nygen Analytics AB's internal evaluation of the quality of the data, the end users may have the option to publish their data on ScarfWeb. In cases where the option to publish is available, the end user can choose to publish their data under a Creative Commons license (https://creativecommons.org/about/cclicenses/) of their selection. When choosing to publish their data, the end user agrees that Nygen assumes no liability or guarantees for the availability of the published data.

Data location

ScarfWeb utilizes Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its cloud provider, with servers dispersed across 23 global locations. Upon logging in, users can select a server for data storage and access, as well as designate a default server location via the user settings page. The Partner has the option to upload data either to the user's default server location or to the Stockholm-based AWS server.

Account creation authorization

Upon requesting data delivery (consisting of matrix files and related metadata) from The Partner, an Authorized User grants permission to Nygen to establish a ScarfWeb account on their behalf. Subsequently, Nygen will send the account details to the Authorized User's email address. It is the Authorized User's responsibility to monitor their email inbox and spam folder for any notifications pertaining to account creation and data delivery.
